A standardised language for sustainability

This is the motto under which IAB Switzerland and the Bundesverband Digitale Wirtschaft (BVDW) e.V. have published the new German-language glossary on sustainability in the advertising industry. The glossary is intended to promote dialogue within the digital advertising industry and ensure consistency and clarity in discussions on the topic of sustainability through standardised terms.

The comprehensive glossary, to which iq digital also contributed, serves as a resource to establish standardised terminology for environmentally and socially responsible advertising practices and to facilitate the daily handling of the topic of sustainability in the advertising industry.

Laura Angenendt, Product Owner & Sustainability Manager at iq digital, actively contributed to the glossary: "A sustainability glossary is so important because we can only really make progress on such an important topic if we all speak the same language and have the same understanding of terms. The result is a great guide for everyone working in the digital advertising industry."

For example, the glossary contains German explanations for frequently used English terms to make it easier to understand the subject matter. In addition to basic terms, the glossary focuses primarily on vocabulary directly related to digital advertising.

The publicly accessible document is aimed at companies, agencies, marketers, tech providers and anyone involved in shaping sustainability in digital advertising processes.
